This website was started by me, Todd Wallace. It all came together when I realized that one of my passions could fulfill a need.
I have always enjoyed helping people understand how to use technology, particularly computer related technology. One day I began thinking about the telephone as a communication device. We no longer ask people if they have a telephone. We ask them what their phone number is. However, as prevalent as the internet is in modern society, we still have to ask people if they use the internet and if they have an e-mail account. There is still a huge percentage of people in the world who choose not to use the internet. Sometimes it’s fear of the unknown that holds people back from trying out the internet. For some, it’s a lack of finances that keeps them from being online. My mother-in-law, whom I happen to like by the way, is entirely apathetic to the internet. To her, it doesn’t even seem to exist.
It is my hope that anyone who is ready to brave their fears, spend the dime, and take interest in this portal to the rest of the world will feel welcome and at home here while they learn the basics of using the internet. I also hope that this can be a jumping off point once they finish the introductory lessons. If people choose to contine reading the blog here, I hope to provide inspiration to those who enjoy the internet.
